The training “Building Therapeutic Relationships with Children & Young People Through PACE” introduces staff to the theory and purpose of the PACE model, a trauma-informed and attachment-based approach developed by Dr. Dan Hughes. PACE—Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy—offers a relational framework for building trust, emotional safety, and secure attachments with children who have experienced trauma, neglect, or disrupted care. Rooted in attachment theory and trauma recovery, this training equips staff to use PACE as a therapeutic stance in daily practice, helping children develop resilience, positive identity, and healing relationships.
