The Safer Recruitment Awareness training equips managers, senior staff, and anyone involved in hiring with the essential knowledge and practical skills to ensure only safe, suitable, and appropriately vetted individuals are employed to work with children and young people. The course covers the legal and regulatory requirements under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, Working Together to Safeguard Children, KCSIE, GDPR, and Ofsted SCCIF. Participants learn how to plan and conduct safer recruitment processes, apply values-based selection, complete robust vetting and pre-employment checks, identify warning signs, manage induction and probation effectively, and maintain a strong safeguarding-first recruitment culture throughout the organisation.
