1 Lesson

The Complaints Handling & Whistleblowing training equips residential childcare and supported accommodation staff with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills needed to manage complaints and whistleblowing concerns safely and professionally. The course explores legal duties under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, Ofsted SCCIF, and the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA). Staff learn how to support children and young people to raise concerns, respond with empathy, investigate and record complaints appropriately, and escalate safeguarding matters. Participants also learn their rights and responsibilities when whistleblowing, how to identify unsafe practice, and how to contribute to a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
