Mental Health Awareness (Children & Young People)
The Mental Health Awareness (Children & Young People) course provides staff in residential care and supported accommodation with a comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent mental health. The training explores development stages, common mental health conditions, risk and protective factors, trauma and ACEs, and the social influences that shape wellbeing. Participants learn how to recognise early warning signs, respond safely to mental health concerns, promote resilience and positive wellbeing, work within safeguarding and confidentiality frameworks, and engage effectively with multi-agency partners. The course equips staff with the practical and reflective skills needed to create safe, supportive, trauma-informed environments that promote emotional wellbeing for all young people.
