Regulation 44 & Regulation 45 (Quality Monitoring) – Children’s Homes
The Regulation 44 & Regulation 45 (Quality Monitoring) – Children’s Homes course provides managers, Responsible Individuals, and Regulation 44 visitors with the essential knowledge, skills, and practical tools to carry out high-quality monitoring, scrutiny, and evaluation of children’s homes. The training explores the legal and regulatory framework of the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Ofsted SCCIF expectations, and the distinct but complementary roles of Regulation 44 independent visits and Regulation 45 Quality of Care Reviews. Participants learn how to gather evidence, analyse data, evaluate children’s progress and safeguarding arrangements, write high-quality evaluative reports, and use monitoring findings to drive continuous improvement and prepare for Ofsted inspections. The course strengthens accountability, promotes children’s safety, and ensures services demonstrate compliance, impact, and strong leadership.
