The Health & Safety Awareness Course provides residential and supported accommodation staff with essential knowledge and practical skills to keep children, young people, and colleagues safe. The training covers legal duties under key UK legislation—including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, COSHH Regulations, Manual Handling Regulations, and RIDDOR—while teaching staff how to identify hazards, assess risks, handle substances safely, follow safe manual handling techniques, and respond effectively to accidents and incidents. Participants learn how health and safety links directly to safeguarding and are equipped to promote a strong, proactive safety culture within their service.
