The Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) training equips residential care and supported accommodation staff with the knowledge, understanding, and practical skills to promote fairness, respect, dignity, and cultural sensitivity in all aspects of their work. The course covers the Equality Act 2010, protected characteristics, cultural competence, unconscious bias, inclusive practice, safeguarding links, and regulatory expectations under the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Supported Accommodation Regulations 2023, and Ofsted SCCIF. Participants learn how to challenge discrimination, adapt care to diverse needs, advocate for children’s rights, and reflect on their own attitudes and behaviours to create an inclusive, safe, and empowering environment for young people.
